About us
Facing West Farm is a small sustainable family farm located in Henry County, producing 2 acres of mixed vegetables and fruits as well as fresh eggs and flowers. The 2009 season will be our (Megan Olliges and Todd Childers) first in business for ourselves, but as a couple we have ten years experience growing locally and naturally.
We are dedicated to growing healthy food naturally through a mutually beneficial relationship with this beautiful land.
Products offered
We will offer a 22 week vegetable CSA program for $550 with optional flower and egg shares.
The optional cut flower share that includes a weekly bouquet of flowers grown on our farm and delivered along with the produce share. Flower share distributions last for 10 weeks, starting in early July and ending in mid September. Flower shares cost $100 for the season.
As a shareholder, you will receive a weekly box of vegetables, occasional recipes and newsletters as well as the opportunity to be involved in the farm throughout the season. From the harvesting your own food to letting us know your preferences for vegetable varieties, we look forward to working with our members to build a positive and beneficial community.
Our tentative pickup locations are Thursday evening at the Bardstown Rd Farmers Market in the Highlands or Sat mornings in St. Mathews, hopefully at the St. Matthews Farmers Market.
