About us
Barr Farms is a seventh generation family farm owned and operated by Adam, his Uncle Mike and father, Gary. They have raised Polled Hereford X Angus Beef for 20+ years. They also have Percheron draft horses for work and pleasure.
2007 was be the first year for Barr Farms CSA. The garden is in small-scale intensive production using double dug raised beds. I grow healthy food on remineralized soil.

We grow a wide variety of herbs and vegetables, as well as gourmet and medicinal mushrooms. The garden is small-scale intensive production using double-dug raised beds. I grow healthy food on remineralized soil. Pick up is once a week--Thursday --between 3:30 and 6:30 PM. Two options for pick-up location are listed below. Other options for pick-up might be considered, but I'd like to stay in the downtown area. Start date is early May. The duration will be 12 weeks for the spring season at a price of $250. Fall season same duration and price. If you sign up for both seasons before our first delivery in May, I can offer both spring and summer for $450. HALF SHARES: Ther is no half share option, BUT there is a sponsorship option. For those folks who might not eat a full share of veggies: the remainder of your share each week will go to a low-access family in West Louisville. I'm partnering with Urban Fresh a local youth food delivery group to distribute this extra produce. Members still pay full price, but we could work out the details if you donate half your produce each week--I'd like to make it a tax-deductible donation. Plus you get the satisfaction of knowing that all the extra produce from this CSA delivery goes directly to a family that otherwise wouldn't have access to fresh, local, healthy food.
