It is not news that we need clean water to survive, but most people take access to clean water for granted. Our global water systems are under great stress. Shifting weather patterns, population growth, poor environmental regulations, pharmaceuticals, aging infrastructure, and waste among other factors have led to increases in contamination and reductions in our supply of fresh water. Louisville's own combine sewer system is in trouble due to overflow issues leading to unacceptable levels of wastewater discharge. Please join us on August 12th for an engaging discussion on water and learn what you can do to help make our city, region, and the world more sustainable.

Ramsi's Café on the World will be providing food for the event and coffee will be provided by Heine Brothers Coffee.

This event is free to the public, however space is limited, so if you or anyone else is interested please go to:

Local chefs will compete across the city to create "Winning Market Meals," dishes created from fresh, local ingredients that can be easily recreated by cooks at home in approximately 30 minutes. They will be judged on originality, nutrition and overall taste, and how easily the recipe can be replicated by the average home cook. The competition is part of an effort to promote healthy, home cooked meals and increased consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables grown locally.

On July 26th, chefs from Mr. Lou's dining will compete using ingredients from Misty Meadows Farm and other vendors.

Slow Food Bluegrass/Locust Grove Picnic

Come to Historic Locust Grove on June 22nd to celebrate “slow” and all things handmade!
